The Story
Rosana Montes was a craftswoman who experienced a near-death experience (NDE) during a liver transplant surgery in 2017, caused by her autoimmune disease, primary biliary cirrhosis. During the NDE, she left her body, entered a white space, and saw flashes of her ancestors and her life. She encountered a distressed being, whom she believed was her donor, and consoled them. She also saw a figure she recognized as her future granddaughter, Sophie, who told her she would live. After this, she felt herself falling back into her body and woke up in the ICU. After the NDE, Rosana had a new sense of purpose, promising to live differently and valuing her life more. A year later, her daughter became pregnant, and Rosana felt it was Sophie, confirming her experience.
“Several times in my life I said... "Oh, I think my mother was very hard on me, she didn't love me that much..." That was something... but... there... when he said that to me, it hurt... do you understand?”
