The Story
Charles Kiefer, a 46-year-old professor, experienced an NDE due to hypovolemic shock and cardiac arrest after a surgery complication. He struggled with severe bleeding for days before collapsing at home. During the NDE, he felt peaceful while swimming in turbulent waters, eventually reaching a beautiful beach filled with light. He encountered a deceased friend who became his guide. They discussed his desire to return to raise his daughter. After agreeing to three conditions, he returned to his body, feeling a painful transition. After the NDE, he left his academic career to study and teach Kabbalah, gaining a new understanding of life and a sense of purpose.
