The Story
Mr. Elio underwent heart surgery, which caused his near-death experience (NDE). While in the ICU and unconscious, he saw an old man holding a child's hand as they walked up a grassy hill toward a bright light. He felt curiosity and peace during this experience. As he approached the light, he lost sight of the figures, and then everything went black. He woke up in the ICU, realizing he was alive. After the NDE, Mr. Elio felt a significant change in his life. He no longer valued material things as he once did and became more sensitive to family matters. He also lost his fear of death, believing there is a possibility of life after death and that consciousness exists beyond the brain.
