The Story
The experiencer was a woman named Vick who was blind from birth. She had a near-death experience after a severe car accident that caused a fracture at the base of her skull and left her in a coma. During the NDE, she felt herself leave her body and saw her surroundings from above. She recognized her body on a gurney and saw medical staff working on her. Vick encountered deceased friends and family in a beautiful, light-filled environment. She felt welcomed and experienced a sense of freedom. Eventually, she was forced back into her body, which was painful. After the NDE, Vick gained a new perspective on life and the nature of consciousness, challenging her understanding of sight and awareness.
