The Story
A man in Midvale, Utah, who was a father of 12 children, suffered a heart attack on February 13, 2004, while at home. The pain grew severe, and he collapsed after calling 911. During the near-death experience, he left his body and saw two men at the foot of his bed. He realized he was dead and could see through walls. He asked to return, and they agreed. He then entered a room and met his deceased first wife and parents, who told him to go back to prepare for the second coming of Christ. Next, he met Jesus, hugged him, and faced a life review where Jesus asked, 'Where's your heart?' Jesus guided him through history, including pre-mortal existence, Earth's creation, the Garden of Eden, Old Testament events, Jesus' birth, ministry, crucifixion, resurrection, and visits to people worldwide. After returning to his body, the pain returned intensely. Paramedics revived him, but he suffered broken ribs and needed surgery with a mechanical heart pump. The experience reinforced his faith in Jesus Christ and gave him a strong sense of responsibility to share it to help others find the Savior.
“that I should come back to my body so then I I went back to my body and I crawled back in and it was quite exciting you know I felt warmth in my body and I could feel it go out in my toes”
The account describes a severe cardiac arrest with clinical death, providing strong medical severity, and a brief out-of-body experience viewing the scene from above the bed. However, veridical claims lack specificity, verification, unpredictability, and any corroborated details, with no attempts to confirm observations like the two men at the bedside.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.
