The Story
Paulo Cesar experienced a near-death experience (NDE) due to a cardiac arrest in December 2000. During this time, he felt disconnected from his body. In September 2009, he learned about a colleague named Mentinha who had a cardiac arrest during surgery. While Paulo was feverish and unconscious, Mentinha claimed she saw him and that he asked her to come back to life. After this experience, Paulo felt a connection to Mentinha's NDE, even though he did not consciously remember it. This led him to reflect on consciousness and its relationship to the physical body. After these experiences, he gained a deeper understanding of consciousness and its independence from the material world.
“I felt pain ... I felt a lot of pain. I'm not going to say that I believe this or that ...”
