John Carter: Finding Jesus' Face
What Researchers Found
The Story
John Carter, a former corrections officer from Indiana, had a near-death experience in July 2020. He collapsed at home from sepsis poisoning and was not found for five days. In the emergency room, his organs failed, and he died twice. During the first death, he floated above his body on the ceiling. After revival, he died again and entered a tunnel with a bright light. He saw his life events on the walls, feeling his soul refreshed. He emerged into a beautiful field, where Jesus held him, baptized him with a wooden spoon, and filled him with the Holy Spirit. His heart grew large with love. He met Archangel Michael, thousands of relatives from generations past, and saints like St. Francis and Padre Pio. Jesus instructed him to return and teach people to love others and pray for enemies. After waking in intensive care, John recovered from sepsis, COVID, and heart surgery. He transformed from a stern introvert to a loving person who hugs strangers, shares Jesus' message, casts out demons, and lives without fear of death.

This NDE during dual cardiac arrests includes an OBE but lacks detailed real-time medical veridicals. Evidential strength derives from multiple post-NDE verifications of previously unknown family history details, such as a great-great-grandfather's Civil War victory medal and Vicksburg participation, confirmed via sibling research and records. Limitations include no independent physical-world perceptions from impossible vantages and reliance on familial corroboration.
Score reflects verifiable perceptions reported. A low score indicates the experience was primarily spiritual or subjective, not that it didn't occur.

Was this Experience Depth score useful?
