Jim Penniston is an American soldier stationed in England during the Cold War. He responds to a report of a possible aircraft crash in Rendlesham Forest. Upon arrival, he and Airman John Burroughs see unusual flickering lights and approach a small triangular craft. They feel an electrical charge from the object and notice strange symbols on its surface. The craft suddenly disappears, and their radios return to normal. The next day, Penniston finds scorch marks and indentations at the site. Years later, he and Burroughs believe the incident caused them health problems and plan to file a lawsuit.
